How it Started - Wanting More Flexibility
Do you feel fed up or overwhelmed with your job; as if the endless demands of the office are sapping your energy? Does the long commute to and from work squeeze the joy of living out of you? Or have you reached the point where you just want greater work-life balance?
If that's the case, I'd like to share my story with you, and how I solved the problem... A few years ago, the demands of my job had left me feeling exhausted and anxious all the time, I yearned for greater flexibility and wished I could work on my terms.
Although I started my working life in the corporate world, it wasn't the right career choice for me, I wanted something more meaningful, less stressful, and with greater flexibility.
So after graduating, I decided to go into teaching and build a more rewarding career for myself.
While I was truly passionate about my subject, and really enjoyed teaching, it felt like it was consuming me; the constant stress, the pressure, the never-ending to-do lists. I felt my life was just endless work. I would get up stressed and go to bed stressed.
I told myself this was just how life was — working was demanding and stressful. But deep down, I knew something was missing; I felt unfulfilled — this wasn’t what I really wanted.
I needed more time for myself, more peace, more freedom... Freedom to enjoy my hobbies and interests, freedom to enjoy a social life, and freedom to organise my workload as it suited me, I started yearning for the freedom to work on my own terms, to set my own schedule, and work as and when it suited me.
But at that time, I simply didn't know that was even possible!
And then, the inevitable happened — the constant stress, pressure, and overwork started affecting my health and I developed chronic fatigue.
Finally, I found myself staring at the stark reality of what my life had become: I wasn’t living — I was barely holding on. That day was a turning point for me, a real ‘wake-up call'. I knew something had to change...
I needed a more flexible way of working...
A Deep Yearning for Another Way...
I longed for a life where I could set my own pace, and actually enjoy my days.
I knew that I needed more freedom. I craved it — a way of working that didn’t come with the constant, demoralising stress and fatigue that had become a familiar part of my life.

So, I started searching. I knew if I wanted true freedom and flexibility, I’d have to work for myself. I needed to find a way of taking control of my career, and create an income in a way that would allow me to enjoy life, set my own hours, and work as it suited me, at my own pace.

I didn't have a great deal of confidence in my tech skills either, I had used word processing packages and knew a little bit about spreadsheets and presentation software, and that was about all. So I knew I needed something where I would get good help and support.
